Barcelona will turn to their plan B option of Angel Di Maria and Jean Michael Seri after hitting a dead end in pursuits of Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele.
The Spanish giants are running out of time to secure their top targets, with the transfer window set to slam shut in just under two week's time.
Barca had been hoping to wrap up deals for Coutinho and Dembele and have both players unveiled to the fans, but the set-backs issued by Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund now means other options must be pursued.
The Catalan side will now target former Real Madrid man Di Maria as the solution to their vacant spot in the front three, while Nice's Seri is wanted to fill a deeper midfield berth, according to reports in Spain.
