Arne Slot has revealed that he twice invited Jurgen Klopp to matches at Anfield and says the former Liverpool manager is welcome to visit the Reds training ground whenever he likes.
Klopp has not been back to Merseyside since quitting the club last season and his absence has allowed Slot to enjoy a fine debut season without distraction.
It means Slot has avoided the issues Manchester United managers have faced with the cameras often focused on Sir Alex Ferguson in the stands at Old Trafford.
But the Dutchman, who takes his Premier League leaders to Manchester City tomorrow, says he'd have no issue with his predecessor — now global head of soccer at Red Bull — coming back to the club.
