Arne Slot provides Trent Alexander-Arnold fitness update ahead of Liverpool's crucial Merseyside derby against Everton

Trent Alexander-Arold is on track to be fit for the Merseyside Derby and is set to train today after a thigh injury.

Mail Sport reported last week how the England full back was targeting this fixture after he suffered a thigh injury in Liverpool’s win over Bournemouth a fortnight ago.

Conor Bradley has deputised admirably and it is a firm 50/50 whether the Northern Irishman or Alexander-Arnold get the nod in tomorrow’s trip to Everton.

But Slot has confirmed the vice-captain is back in training and in contention to play — should they risk him.
