Are you sure, Pep? Guardiola bizarrely claims it's 'impossible' for Manchester City to sign a new striker because they 'can't afford it'... despite having the multi-billion pound backing of Abu Dhabi to chase £154m Erling Haaland

Pep Guardiola has all-but ruled out Manchester City signing a new striker this summer to replace club legend Sergio Aguero.

Aguero will be departing the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season as the club's all-time top scorer with an incredible 257 goals in 384 matches, and talk has already turned to who will replace him.

Erling Haaland has been heavily linked with a move to City, along with rivals United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona in a £154million transfer.

But Guardiola has effectively ruled out City making a move for the Norwegian superstar from Borussia Dortmund, claiming the club 'cannot afford him' despite their embarrassment of riches thanks to their multi-billion pound backing from Abu Dhabi.
