A man has admitted that he's so besotted with his pet pooch that he's spent around £18,000 on expensive gifts for the pampered dog.

Anthony Walsh, 55, from Liverpool, rescued Princess Cleopatra Superchill - Cleo for short - when she was 18 months old and has since lavished thousands of pounds on the pet that he says is 'more like a daughter'.

Walsh, who's single and doesn't have children, pushes Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cleo, 5, around in a specially adapted £1,500 pram, which he's also converted into a throne.
