Pupils from New Park Primary School, Pinehurst Primary School and St Margaret’s Anfield CE Primary School enjoyed the game from an executive box in the Main Stand.
Before kick-off, the children had the opportunity to have a chat with Rush, the club’s all-time record goalscorer, who popped in to say hello.
The schools were invited to the game as part of the club’s Young Fan Ticket Initiative, which aims to give more local and young supporters the chance to experience a matchday at Anfield.
Liam Muscart, aged 10, who attends New Park Primary School, said: “It was an amazing experience to meet Ian and watch the game from a box.
