Anfield legend Robbie Fowler shares POEM he wrote about Melwood as Liverpool bid farewell to historic training ground ahead of move to AXA Training Centre in Kirkby

Robbie Fowler has paid tribute to Liverpool's historic training ground as the Reds finally bid farewell to Melwood.

Fowler took to Instagram to share a touching poem ahead of the club's move to the brand new AXA Training Centre in Kirkby next week.

Fowler recalled the 'many memories' he made at the 'fabulous home he called Melwood' during his eight years at Liverpool.

He took to Instagram to share a series of photographs from his training days at Melwood.

The photos were accompanied with a touching poem that read:

'It began as a kid so many late nights,

'just off the bus to see the delights,

'From Highway to Macca and Rush through to Yeats,

'So many legends have shone through those gates.
