Jurgen Klopp has hailed Alisson Becker and claimed Liverpool’s outstanding No 1 has exceeded his expectations.
The Brazil international arrived on Merseyside for a colossal fee in July 2018 but the £64.6million – at the time a world record fee for a goalkeeper – Liverpool paid Roma to sign Alisson has been money well-spent and been crucial in turning Klopp’s side into proven winners.
Alisson caught the eye on Sunday with his assist for Mohamed Salah against Manchester United – and subsequent 100-yard sprint to join the celebrations in front of The Kop – but once again it was the quality of his handling, allied with his decision making, that so impressed.
