Xabi Alonso announced on Thursday morning that he will retire from football at the end of the season.
Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy gave his reaction to the news alongside Matt Scott and Jim White on talkSPORT.
Alonso spent five years at Anfield, making more than 200 appearances for the Reds, and played a key role in the club's sensational Champions League triumph in Istanbul in 2005.
