Trent Alexander-Arnold is nearing a return from injury in a boost to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after missing the last three matches.
The Reds kick-start their Carabao Cup campaign against Championship hopefuls Leicester City on Wednesday evening although that is still too soon for Alexander-Arnold to be involved.
A hamstring injury suffered in a 3-0 win over Aston Villa at the start of September resulted in the right-back limping off at Anfield and subsequently withdrawing from international duty with England.
Recovery work has seen him work hard to get fit before the next upcoming international break and Liverpool assistant Pepijn Lijnders explained Alexander-Arnold has returned to team training ahead of Wednesday's cup clash.
