It became a familiar sight for staff at Bodymoor Heath during Jack Grealish’s final two seasons at Aston Villa.
Those who passed the main gym on the way to the car park at the end of the working day would often see the captain there as the light outside faded, going through his weights routine before returning to nearby Barnt Green, 10 miles south of Birmingham. Grealish had also installed a home gym when he lived in the village, prior to joining Manchester City two years ago.
This extra focus allowed Grealish to become a £100million footballer who is now one of the best in the country – and John Terry figures among those who pushed him to adopt it.
