Premier League football star is arrested on suspicion of beating his wife at his £850,000 five-bed home in 1am police raid

Leicester City footballer Ahmed Musa has been arrested on suspicion of attacking his wife.

The Nigerian striker, 24, who cost the Premier League club a record fee of £16.6million, was quizzed by police at his £850,000 five-bedroom home in Countesthorpe, Leicestershire.

Officers swooped at his home on Tuesday night in response to a domestic abuse complaint, just hours after his side's 2-0 win over Sunderland.
