Manchester United have put together a 'back-up list' of midfielders in case they are unable to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.
The Red Devils are reportedly looking to bring in an an established Premier League star if the deal with Barca falls through, with Ruben Neves and Youri Tielemans their targets.
It had seemed that de Jong was almost certain to join United, but recent developments have made the move less likely, with the Dutchman unlikely to leave while Barca owe him £17m in wages.

De Jong is also thought to be happier at the prospect of staying in Spain that joining Old Trafford, as he is settled in Barcelona and his side will Champions League football next season.
