Man accused of key role in £26million house raids of Tamara Ecclestone, Frank Lampard and Leicester City owner is charged in Serbia

The alleged mastermind behind the biggest burglaries in British history has been charged in Serbia.

Ljubomir Romanov was one of four men who took part in a £26million series of raids on the homes of F1 heir Tamara Ecclestone and Frank Lampard, prosecutors said.

According to Serbian court documents outlining money laundering charges, Romanov invested €2.4m (£2m) made via 'criminal activities' in Britain into Belgrade real estate, luxury cars and other items.

A property in the centre of Belgrade, a mansion in Romanov's hometown of Obrenovac and cars including a Ferrari and a Porsche were seized by the public prosecutor's office, Serbian newspaper Kurir reported.
