Leicester partied as superheroes last Christmas on the way to claiming the Premier League title, but Danny Simpson fears any festive celebrations this year may be put on hold should the champions fail to climb free of the relegation battle.
Claudio Ranieri’s side have produced the second-worst start to a title defence after 13 games in English top-flight history – after Ipswich in 1962/63 – but Simpson insisted the last-gasp point picked up at home to Middlesbrough could be ‘massively important’.
Nevertheless, Leicester sit just two points above the drop zone and reminded of last year’s trip to Copenhagen – when players dressed as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers.
