Leicester have suffered a major blow after FIFA ruled their new signing Adrien Silva cannot play until January.
The Foxes agreed a £22million deal for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder on transfer deadline day after selling Danny Drinkwater to Chelsea.
But their application to register him arrived on FIFA's computerised system 14 seconds after the deadline had passed and the governing body have refused to sanction the transfer.
Leicester are desperately trying to find a resolution but, as things stand, Silva will not be available for Craig Shakespeare's side until January when the transfer window reopens.
