Leicester boss Ranieri thinks the 'whole world' says Vardy's red should have been overturned

Claudio Ranieri has claimed the ‘whole world’ believed Jamie Vardy should escape a three-game FA ban for his red card against Stoke City.

The Leicester City manager said he was very surprised the appeals process failed to overturn referee Craig Pawson’s decision and insisted it was ‘sad for football’.

Pawson dismissed Vardy in the 28th minute after the England striker challenged Mame Biram Diouf with both feet off the ground. Vardy was pushed off balance by Glen Johnson but still won the ball before following through on Diouf.
