Training sessions lasting nearly two hours are not usually the way for a manager to become popular with his players.
Yet new Leicester boss Enzo Maresca will cut no corners in his attempts to rebuild the club and though the early signs are promising, the real stuff starts against Coventry at King Power Stadium on Sunday.
After they were relegated from the Premier League last season, Leicester turned to Maresca, who was part of Pep Guardiola’s staff who helped Manchester City win the Treble. Maresca is a devotee of Guardiola’s style and though City’s players are substantially better than Leicester’s, he believes it can be just as effective in the Championship.
