The Premier League champions started the game at Vicarage Road in the worst possible manner, conceding within 32 seconds after Etienne Capoue fired home from a Troy Deeney flick. The hosts doubled their advantage in the 12th minute courtesy of a sublime Roberto Pereyra strike.
While the Foxes did manage to halve their disadvantage shortly after, they were unable to level the tie, confirming a fifth defeat from six away games this season.
No team have been relegated the season after winning the top flight since Manchester City in 1938, but a third loss in the Premier League in a row left Leicester just two points above Hull in 18th.
