The Portugal boss has been the unlikely life raft that has kept Swansea afloat. Without him they would have undoubtedly been swimming in deep water by now.
When he first came on board it was said Carvalhal is here to rearrange deck chairs on the Titanic. It was inevitable that Swansea were going down and they may still do but in the short time he has been in charge there is already more than an element of doubt to that.
