Sunderland will push through the transfers of Everton pair Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson today and are waiting to hear if they need to increase their bid for Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa.
Costa Rica left-back Oviedo and Ireland midfielder Gibson have been peripheral figures under Ronald Koeman but David Moyes is willing to put trust in them to help lift his side in their relegation dogfight.
Sunderland have offered £5m plus add ons for Argentine Ulloa but have yet to hear a response from Leicester.
The striker seemingly signalled his intent to leave the club by tweeting a message to fans on Friday.
