Danny Simpson to sign new long-term deal at Leicester as defender becomes latest member of title-winning squad to commit future to club

Danny Simpson is close to committing his future to Leicester City by agreeing a new long-term contract.

The right back has one year left on his current deal and discussions on improved terms have gone well.

The exact length of his updated deal is yet to be finalised but it is expected to be until at least 2019.

Simpson will also get a significant pay rise on his current £30,000-a-week salary, which was agreed when he signed from Queens Park Rangers for £2million in August 2014.
