Craig Shakespeare and the Leicester players were the glue that held the club together under Claudio Ranieri, according to former coach Kevin Phillips.
Phillips – who was a coach at Leicester under Nigel Pearson and at the start of Ranieri's reign – says that the Italian's regime was poorly organised and could have fallen apart a lot sooner than it did.
Ranieri was sacked last month after leading the club to the Premier League title and the last 16 of the Champions League this season and replaced by assistant Shakespeare.
And Phillips says Ranieri's methods lacked organisation and that the players were left to police themselves.
