Craig Shakespeare has made a bold bid to appoint Michael Appleton as his No 2 at Leicester City.
The new Leicester manager is looking to bolster his coaching staff and would like to bring the Oxford United manager to the King Power Stadium.
Shakespeare worked with Appleton at West Bromwich Albion and rates the 41-year-old highly, believing Leicester will benefit from an injection of fresh blood.
Appleton has impressed at Oxford, winning promotion from League Two and reaching the Football League Trophy final, as well as claiming a number of higher level cup scalps.
