Craig Shakespeare's name is no way near as globally recognised in the Leicester fairytale as Claudio Ranieri's. But according to those with local knowledge the man who will write the next chapter provided the club's 'backbone' during the miraculous march to the Premier League title.
Kevin Phillips joined Leicester as a player during the team's Championship promotion, became assistant for the 2014-15 'Great Escape' season, and was present for Ranieri's arrival that summer until he departed for an increased role at Derby County in September.
His insight into that period is illuminating when considering how Shakespeare might fare now, having been given the reins on a proper basis.
