Claudio Ranieri praised his team’s ‘very big heart’ and Kasper Schmeichel’s saves as Leicester snatched a valuable away goal through Jamie Vardy in the 2-1 defeat to Sevilla.
Vardy hit the back of the net for the first time since December 10 to ensure Leicester are still in with a chance of progressing to the Champions League quarter-finals ahead of the second leg on March 14.
Sevilla threatened to swamp Leicester in a first-half onslaught and Schmeichel was required to save a penalty and produce numerous more stops but was unable to prevent Pablo Sarabia and Joaquin Correa breaking through.
