Caretaker boss Michael Appleton hopes Leicester's owners appoint a British manager to replace Craig Shakespeare.
The Srivaddhanaprabha family are searching for a third manager in eight months after sacking Shakespeare on Tuesday, just four months into the three-year contract he signed in the summer.
Despite speculation, a successor is not lined up but conversations have taken place between Leicester's Thai owners and club officials in England about what direction the club should take.
The likes of Guus Hiddink, Carlo Ancelotti, both of whom have been unsuccessfully targeted in the past, Chris Coleman and Sean Dyche have already been linked with the position.
