Brendan Rodgers has revealed that James Maddison was taken off as a 'precaution' during the second half of their 2-1 win away at Aston Villa.
Maddison, who opened the scoring with a brilliantly curled finish in off the post, was in the wars after the break, picking up a knock to his ankle before later going down with a hip problem.
The England international was forced off with the latter injury and was replaced by Nampalys Mendy on 64 minutes.


When asked about the injury to one of his key men, Rodgers replied: 'He had this issue last season and felt it in the game.
