ALAMEDA — With the stipulation that nobody truly knows how draft picks will play out in both the near and distant future, some observations on the Raiders Class of 2019:
Chemistry set: The Raiders are unafraid to bring aboard a proven veteran with baggage (Antonio Brown for example) but are wisely seeking longterm foundation fits with their rookies. Clelin Ferrell of Clemson (first round, No. 4), Josh Jacobs of Alabama (first round, No. 24) and Johnathan Abram (first round, No. 27) are all compelling, completely above-board enthusiastic personalities. They’ll mesh perfectly with coach Jon Gruden and his energy.
