ALAMEDA — So Oakland has thrown down the gauntlet, and is forcing the Raiders to leave town sooner rather than later.
That was the message Tuesday when an anticipated lawsuit came to fruition regarding the move of the franchise to Las Vegas. Surely Mayor Libby Schaaf wasn’t putting out a final-year welcome mat when referring to the “Billionaire Boys Club that ditched Oakland out of sheer greed.”
The odds that the Raiders will be playing their final game at the Coliseum on Christmas Eve against the Denver Broncos have increased. But it’s not an absolute lock, and that’s why the list you’ll see about potential home sites for the Raiders next season will still lead with Oakland.
