This doesn’t come as a surprise.
The AFC awarded its defensive player of the week for Week 14 to Oakland Raiders pass-rusher Khalil Mack. Really, who else would have it been?
Mack had five sacks against Denver, all in the second half. One caused a crucial safety to help the Raiders turn a 12-0 halftime deficit into a 15-12 upset victory at first-place Denver.
Mack was the first player to record five sacks in a game since Aldon Smith did it for San Francisco in 2012, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
