Clive Walford is back … finally.
The promising rookie tight end was suited up for Sunday’s practice as the Raiders finally begin preparation for the regular season opener.
The third-round pick hasn’t suited up since catching two passes for 28 yards in Oakland’s first preseason game. He missed the first nine practices of training camp with a hamstring injury before returning in time to make that debut. But going back out right after had brought some growing concern about his availability for the Sept. 13 opener against the Bengals.
Walford, who hasn’t spoken with the media during his absence, attempted to squash any concerns with this tweet last week.
