Virginia Madden, the widow of former Raiders head coach John Madden, spoke at the public memorial service of the Hall of Famer on Monday with a message that drew the loudest cheer of the evening from the attending crowd.
"John believed in the town of Oakland. He believed in the Coliseum. Most of all, he believed in the Raiders," Virginia Madden told the audience at Oakland Coliseum. "I believe in the Raiders, the Oakland Raiders. Oakland needs a football team.”
"The OAKLAND Raiders!": What a moment. Virginia Madden brought the crowd to it's feet during tonight's memorial for her late husband John Madden at the Oakland Coliseum and made it clear what team coach believed in.
