OAKLAND – An ugly finish for the Oakland Raiders was matched by some ugly scenes from their fans Sunday in the team’s final game at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.
Dozens of extra security guards surrounded the sidelines in the fourth quarter to prevent fans from storming the field. That show of force worked, but there were still isolated incidents where fans were arrested after climbing over the perimeter wall.
Other fans also threw debris onto the field after the Raiders gave up a last-minute touchdown and lost 20-16 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the final home game before Oakland is scheduled to move to Las Vegas for the 2020 season.
