Reggie Nelson is alive and well.
The Raiders’ free agent acquisition at safety was presented in person Thursday for the first time since signing a two-year deal with Oakland in April.
Nelson, a 2015 Pro Bowl selection, sat out the offseason program with an undisclosed injury and had only spoken with the media via conference call since joining the Raiders.
But with the team set to open camp Friday, the team checked in to the Napa Valley Marriott on Thursday to begin preparing for a season of high expectations.
Nelson has been in Napa all week, as he joined quarterbacks, rookies and other rehabbing players who started workouts on Sunday.
