Tony Bergstrom moving on to Houston Texans

Reggie McKenzie’s first draft pick is moving on.

The Houston Chronicle reported Wednesday, about an hour after the NFL’s official start to free agency, that center/guard Tony Bergstrom has signed with the Houston Texans.

The Raiders’ third-round pick in McKenzie’s first draft in 2012 — the team didn’t have a first- or second-round pick — played in just 25 career games for Oakland and made only four starts. Three came this past season when he added some versatility to his game and served as the backup center, starting three times in place of the injured Rodney Hudson and earning solid reviews from the coaching staff.
