One of the surprises during the early stages of the Las Vegas Raiders training camp has been rookie linebacker Tommy Eichenberg. It’s hard to expect much from a fifth-round pick in year one, especially at this stage in the season, but the Ohio State product has reportedly been one of many defensive standouts for the Raiders this summer.
“As [tight end Michael] Mayer prepared to make the catch off what appeared to be a perfectly lofted throw, rookie linebacker Tommy Eichenberg leaped and batted the ball away for an incompletion with his long, outstretched right arm,” Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal wrote on August 1.
