It's no secret Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden is a firm believer in the "next man up" mentality, but his devotion to the creed is now reportedly bordering on self-parody.
NFL Network's Mike Garofolo reported Wednesday that Gruden recently orchestrated an elaborate bit over a Zoom call to remind his players to take the ongoing coronavirus pandemic seriously and stay ready to fill in at all times.
"The Raiders players logged on to a Zoom call last week expecting to see Jon Gruden, and instead they saw Rich Bisaccia, the special teams coach and assistant head coach," Garofolo said.
