The San Diego Raiders?
It might have a Hail Mary’s chance of becoming reality, but San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer wasn’t dismissing the possibility that the NFL’s relocation shell game could end with his city filling its sudden vacancy by luring the Raiders.
According to columnist Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Faulconer reacted to Tuesday’s news of the Raiders’ imperiled bid to relocate to Las Vegas by picking up the phone and letting NFL officials know that his city would like to remain engaged in talks for a franchise.
The report cited multiple sources as saying that calls were exchanged between a San Diego city official and Raiders personnel, although it’s unclear whether the two parties had any actual dialogue.
