In the minutes leading up to Thursday's preseason game between the Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers in Winnipeg, the Packers reportedly considered sitting their starters due to poor field conditions at IG Field.
The stadium is located on the University of Manitoba campus and is home to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. Because CFL goal posts are located in the front of the end zone, they had to be removed and placed in the back of the end zone for the Raiders-Packers tilt.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Jim Owczarski, a patch of turf in the south end zone where the goal post used to be caused a commotion during pregame warmups, with multiple Packers and Raiders officials meeting to discuss the suspect area.
