The Raiders are exploring the prospect of playing a preseason game in Canada, team sources told NBC Sports California. There’s no deal to play an exhibition north of the border at this stage, but the team is closely looking at the possibility of such a trip.
It would likely be a home game played outside the East Bay, though the exact opponent, date and game site remain unknown.
Justin Funk of 3downnation.com, a Canadian football website, reported Monday that the Raiders could play in Regina, where the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughrders play.
The Raiders have already been assigned to play a regular-season home game in London next season.
