Source: Raiders to sign S Taylor Mays

The Raiders have been looking for safety help since the offseason, with only free-agent signee Nate Allen to show for it. They tendered an offer sheet to Green Bay restricted free agent Sean Richardson, but the Packers matched the terms and kept him.

Roughly halfway through the preseason, the Raiders brought in some help. They agreed to terms on a contract with safety Taylor Mays, a league source confirmed on Tuesday.

Mays, a USC alum, will reunite with former Trojans assistant and current Raiders defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. in Oakland.

Mays has played for several NFL teams after the 49ers selected him in the second round of the 2010 draft.
