Veteran receiver James Jones is being released by the Raiders. The San Jose native received a phone call from general manager Reggie McKenzie on Sunday evening informing him of the news.
Jones confirmed this information to CSN reporter Fallon Smith via text message.
Jones returned home after seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers, signing a three-year contract with the team last offseason.
Jones had 73 recpetions for 666 yards and six touchdowns in 2014, in what will be his only season as a Raider.
The San Jose State alum was the Packers' third-round pick in 2007.
