Source: Raiders give safety Erik Harris new 2-year deal

The Raiders gave safety Erik Harris a new two-year deal instead of the original-round tender, a source told the Bay Area News Group Friday morning.

Harris’ new deal is worth up to $6.5 million with $2.5 million in guarantees, per source. The former CFL special-teamer had played only five career NFL defensive snaps entering 2018, but saw 433 defensive snaps last year to go along with two interceptions late in the season.

Harris’ original-round tender would’ve been worth $2.025 million.

He maintained his role as a core special-teamer on top of his increased duties at safety, and figures to serve the same role in 2019.
