ALAMEDA — Raiders quarterback Derek Carr doesn’t drink and doesn’t smoke. He doesn’t swear and scolds his offensive linemen who do.
He rescued a stranded motorist in the off-season by whisking him to the gas station and back after the driver ran out of fuel. The unsuspecting passenger asked Carr who his favorite NFL team was. “I’m a little biased,” the quarterback replied.
Carr is such a stickler for politeness, even on the field, that he once felt the need to clear the air after a teammate accused him of saying, “shut up” in the huddle. Let the record reflect that Carr said: “Be quiet.
