Donald Penn spent just five of his 13 NFL seasons with the Raiders. Yet, when he decided to retire, he wanted to do so with the franchise.
That’s why Penn signed a one-day contract to retire with the Raiders on Monday. One of the reasons why he felt the desire to do so was because of the fans. He said he would tell fellow offensive lineman Kyle Long — who visited the Raiders — on Monday, that the fan base was one of the best parts of being on the team
Penn, who grew up in Los Angeles as a Raiders fan, will always be a part of the organization and his connection to the fan base was undeniable.
