Raiders CB Rashaan Melvin adjusts to new technique - SFChronicle.com
In their preseason finale against Seattle, the Raiders rested every player who would go on to start for them in Week 1 — except for one. While about 40 teammates watched from the sideline in street clothes, cornerback Rashaan Melvin suited up and played 14 snaps — a curious sight given the Raiders had brought in Melvin, 28, to be a starter at cornerback opposite Gareon Conley. Head coach Jon Gruden afterward said Melvin was still “learning a new technique” and cautioned not to “read too much into” his presence on the field.
