Silver Mining 4/30: Local star falls into Raiders laps, Sebastian Janikowski retires

The Alameda native, who’s 6-foot-2 and 211 pounds, didn’t often play against the best programs in the nation, but he proved himself against big-time talent whenever he got the opportunity. This past season against Stanford, for instance, Doss had 13 catches for 106 yards.

Janikowski played in 284 regular-season games (16th all-time), attempted 542 field goals (10th) and made 436 of them (ninth). His 1,913 points scored are 10th most all-time and were second among active players behind Indianapolis’ Adam Vinatieri.
