Typically, it’s tough for NFL players to muster up enough energy for a Thursday night game on short rest, but the Oakland Raiders will play their final home game against the San Diego Chargers on the heels of a stirring retirement announcement.
Oakland might as well rename this contest the Farewell Charles Woodson Game. The Raiders safety announced his intentions to retire in front of local media Monday. If anyone takes the field charged up, it’ll be Woodson in his final home game.
The Raiders’ uncertain future pertaining to relocation will also add some flair to Thursday’s matchup as a must-watch event.
