New Orleans Saints fans received something they never wanted Sunday. Their very own “Tuck Rule.”
When officials held their flags as cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman blatantly interfered with Tommylee Lewis along the sideline, it helped the Los Angeles Rams to a 26-23 NFC championship game overtime win over New Orleans.
The Saints were forced to settle for a game-tying 31-yard field goal by Will Lutz, leaving enough time for the Rams to come back and tie the score on a 48-yard field goal by Greg Zuerlein to send the game into overtime.
Zuerlein won it with a 57-yard field goal during the extra period, sending the Rams to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.
